Big Ambitions 1.0: release date and what is in the update
Big Ambitions 1.0 was released on 28 August 2026, ending an Early Access run of at least three years. The update adds a seventh neighbourhood (The Hamptons), a chauffeur service, a food-delivery service, a pricing-manager staff role and three in-game activities. It also changes three systems the developer named directly: lending, investments and taxes. That distinction matters more than it looks: the announcement says which systems moved, but publishes almost none of the new numbers. Exactly one figure was given — a 10% late-tax fee. Everything else on this page is either a quote from the announcement or marked TBA with the condition that will fill it. If you are here because an older guide stopped matching the game, the table below tells you which parts of it to distrust.
When did Big Ambitions 1.0 release?
We have no source for the date Early Access began, so we are not going to print one. What we can bound it with: the 1.0 announcement thanks players for “our early access period” (claim PATCH-10), and the oldest walkthrough of this game we archived went up on 7 March 2023 (claim YT-PROV), so it was publicly playable by then. That puts Early Access at three years and five months at minimum. At the time of writing the Steam page listed 13,022 reviews — that number moves, so treat it as a snapshot rather than a fixed figure.
The 1.0 launch trailer
We do not embed the official launch trailer: this is an unofficial fan site on a bare product-name domain, so the publisher’s artwork, screenshots and trailer footage stay off it entirely. The trailer is on YouTube (uploaded 21 August 2026, a week before release, claim YT-PROV). We have not transcribed it, so we make no claim about what is in it — nothing on this page is sourced from it.
Changed, added, or silent — the three states
The patch notes treat these very differently, so we do too. Changed means the developer named that system as altered. Added means new things appeared and nothing was said about the existing entries. Silent means the notes never mention it, which is not the same as confirming it was left alone.

Everything 1.0 changed, and the one number it published
Nine dials moved across lending, investing and tax. The announcement states the direction of each. It publishes exactly one value.

Patches since 1.0
Build 3672 shipped 1 September 2026, the first update after release. The announcement opens with a concurrent-player claim and a note on what is still broken, then a long changelog:
That first quote is not a precise number — the developer wrote “over 12,000”, so that is what we report, not a rounded or exact figure. The second quote means the FPS and stutter reports players raised after launch are not fixed by this build; a separate patch is still coming.
The changelog itself is 94 itemised entries, quoted verbatim from the announcement — we do not summarise it into our own words. Two of those 94 are not fixes at all: one is a note about an upcoming achievement patch, the other is just the word “Tutorial” heading a sub-list — both are still counted because we quote the announcement’s own list items rather than deciding for ourselves what counts as a fix. Key changes in Build 3672: Quality-of-life additions include a destination search in the subway to locate stations quickly, alongside an “Assign Uniforms” quick button in the employee uniform locker. The changelog also covers extensive bug fixes across interface text and layout shifts, tutorial sequencing, NPC navigation clusters and cash register queues, and audio cues (such as walking SFX synchronization). Performance status: The developer explicitly noted that player-reported FPS drops and choppy gameplay remain under investigation and were not resolved in Build 3672, with a dedicated performance fix planned for an upcoming update.
Questions about the 1.0 update
- Is Big Ambitions 1.0 out?
- Yes. It released on 28 August 2026 and is the current version. It is no longer in Early Access.
- Do I have to buy it again?
- The announcement makes no mention of a separate purchase — it is presented as the 1.0 version of the same Early Access app. We have not seen an official statement addressing existing owners directly, so if this matters to you, check the store page.
- Does 1.0 break my save?
- The announcement does not say. It describes new content and reworked systems but makes no claim either way about existing saves. We are not going to guess at this one.
- What is the biggest change for existing players?
- Lending. The income requirement, interest rate and minimum daily payment all went up, the maximum loan went up, and partial repayment is new. Any plan built on the old borrowing terms needs rechecking — see the opening-move page.
- Is there more coming after 1.0?
- The developer said so in the two-week announcement: “we are still planning more updates, content releases and eventually a couple DLCs”. No dates were given.
- Has Big Ambitions had a patch since 1.0?
- Yes. Build 3672 shipped on 1 September 2026, the first update after the 28 August 1.0 release. The developer says the launch weekend hit a new concurrent-player record of over 12,000, and the notes are a bug-fix wave: it does touch loans and tax — a loan-calculation fix and a fix to the tax-rate display are both in the changelog — but no new price, rate or loan figure is published anywhere in it, so the TBA figures elsewhere on this page are still TBA. The developer also says a separate patch for reported FPS drops and stutter is still coming.
- Did Build 3672 fix the FPS drops and stuttering?
- No. The official status for FPS drops and choppy gameplay remains under investigation and unresolved in Build 3672. The developer explicitly stated in the patch notes that performance issues are still being investigated and will be addressed in a separate patch very soon. Build 3672 instead focused on quality-of-life additions (such as subway destination search and uniform quick-assignment) alongside interface, tutorial, NPC, and audio fixes.
